Health is a condition of mental, physical and social well being where infirmity and illness are absent. Some of the synonyms used are health, well being, or wellbeing. Various definitions have also been used over the years for various purposes. Today, we often use the term well being to mean a state of complete well being regardless of external circumstances. It usually involves self-care or the management of one’s health.

Developed countries have a higher life expectancy than the United States of America and some other developed countries. The life expectancy of Mexican women is almost 47 years of age, which is very high. In developed countries, good health is associated with a good diet, regular exercise, and a good attitude towards the way one should lead one’s life. These are all lifestyle choices and cannot be prevented. However, people can choose to live a healthy life by making appropriate changes to their current way of living.

Most developed countries have high levels of cholesterol and hypertension. Cigarette smoking has been proven to be a major cause of these diseases. People who smoke frequently or are heavy smokers are more likely to develop cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, people who eat high levels of animal fat, processed foods, sugar, and salt are at higher risk of getting hypertension and diabetes. This is because these food products contain high levels of bad cholesterol and low levels of good cholesterol.

Physical well-being is also influenced by factors such as physical activity and eating a healthy diet. People who don’t get any physical activity are at a high risk of becoming obese, developing high blood pressure, and developing heart diseases. On the other hand, physically active individuals are at a reduced risk of developing some other health conditions. People who eat a healthy diet and get regular exercise are at a reduced risk of developing many other illness, as well as acquiring a good physical health.

Mental wellness includes aspects related to self-esteem and confidence. If you have low self-esteem or if you don’t think that you look good, you might feel unattractive and worthless. If you don’t take good care of your physical appearance or if you eat a poor diet, you might develop physical illness or psychological illness like depression and other mood disorders. In addition, if you don’t have a supportive network of family and friends, you’re at a greater risk of developing social anxiety or depression, which can worsen your health problems. Being overweight or inactive can lead to poor mental health, along with several other types of illness.

Overall, personal wellness encompasses the quality of your life, including your physical, emotional, and mental wellness. If you want to lead a healthy lifestyle, you should include all three areas in your daily efforts. You can learn about your strengths and weaknesses, your values and habits, your dreams and goals, and your ways to improve these areas by researching and reading about them. Start a journal to document your progress, and learn new skills to nurture your physical, emotional, and mental wellness. Practicing meditation and yoga can also help you relax and gain peace of mind.
